IACS Fall
BAND/ORCHESTRA
Festival

You're Invited

The IACS is sponsoring their annual Fall Band/Orchestra Festival on Thursday and Friday, October 30-31, 2025 for AACS member schools in Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan, hosted this year by Fairhaven Christian Academy and Fairhaven Baptist College in Chesterton, IN.

Dr. Richard Nichols, our guest clinician, will work with IACS band students as they refine their music skills. Band directors will learn much by observing Dr. Nichols in action. The event culminates with a concert on Friday evening at the host school in Chesterton, IN.  Band directors from AACS schools in Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois are encouraged to promote this opportunity among their students and accompany them to the event.

purpose

The purpose of the IACS Fall Band/Orchestra Festival is to:
  1. To promote excellence for the glory of God.
  2. To provide a musical challenge for students who are already playing at a late intermediate to advanced level.
  3. To further develop the musicianship of students who have the potential for playing at an advanced level and are currently taking private lessons.
  4. To build positive relationships among student musicians from various Christian schools.

repertoire

Repertoire will be carefully recommended by the guest conductor and approved by the Festival Committee. Each is designed to challenge students to new levels of performance. Selections will include a blend of sacred and secular, general and seasonal, all of which will represent the best in instrumental music. Students will rehearse together both days and present a concert to friends and family at 7 p.m. CST on Friday in the auditorium of Fairhaven Baptist Church in Chesterton, Indiana.
