IACS Fall Music Festival
October 31 - November 1, 2024
Friday Concert at 7 pm

STUDENT INFO SHEET 2023
The IACS is sponsoring their second annual Fall Music Festival on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 26-27, 2023 hosted by the Indiana Christian Academy in Anderson, IN. Skilled directors/guest clinicians will work with choir and band students from IACS schools, culminating in a combined concert on Friday evening. School choir and band directors are encouraged to support this student opportunity by registering (below) for the event by Sept. 1 and by preparing their student musicians for participation during regular rehearsals in the fall semester.

The purpose of the IACS Fall Music Festival is to: 1) develop students' musicianship; 2) build positive relationships among student musicians from IACS member schools; and 3) promote excellence for the glory of God.

Repertoire, carefully selected by the guest conductors (6 for choirs, 5 for bands), is intended to challenge students to new levels of performance. Selections will include a blend of sacred and secular, general and seasonal, all of which will represent the best in choral and instrumental music.

Students will rehearse together both days and present a concert to friends and family at 7 pm Friday evening in the auditorium at Grace Baptist Church. Hours for Thursday's rehearsal are from 4-7 PM. Rehearsals will begin at 8:30 AM on Friday and will run throughout the day.

Our Festival Choir will be directed this year by a number of skilled choral directors from IACS schools around the state. This combination of directors will bring a variety of approaches to the choral rehearsal and will inspire our students to love the choral art and realize what an effective vehicle it is for glorifying the Lord.

Dr. Brown says, “I’ve been inspired by men who love the Lord and have a passion for musical excellence, and I want to do my part in instilling a love for God and a love for music in the lives of my students.”
